Is this the same as your tree surgery service?
No. Tree surgery is the climbing kit – sectional felling near houses, pruning, stumps. Forestry & woodland is the tractor, crane and trailer for woods, paddocks, overgrown land and bigger clearance jobs. If you’re not sure, call us – we’ll tell you which crew you actually need.
Can the tractor get onto my land?
Usually yes – as long as there’s a gateway or access a 4x4 could use. Soft ground, slopes and tight turns we check on the free site visit. If it won’t go, we’ll say so before you spend a penny.
Do I need permission to clear woodland?
Sometimes. TPOs, conservation areas and felling licences can apply. We check that for free and won’t start work that would land you in trouble. Garden trees and small plots are usually straightforward.
What happens to the timber and waste?
Timber can stay stacked for firewood, or we take it. Brash gets chipped – keep the mulch or we remove it. We’re a licensed waste carrier (CBDU486330), so everything that leaves site is done properly.
What’s the difference between grass topping and a normal mow?
A garden mower is for lawns. Topping is the tractor and a heavy cutter for paddocks, rough grass and fields that have got away from you. We knock it down evenly so it can be managed again – not a bowling-green finish.
When would you drive posts with the tractor instead of digging them?
Longer runs – paddock fencing, field boundaries, woodland edges. The tractor drives posts fast and firm. Short garden fences, tight corners and next to buildings we still dig and set the traditional way. We’ll recommend which on the visit.
