Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our Fencing services answered.
What does British Standard fencing mean?
It means your fence is built to the UK’s official strength and safety guidelines. Posts are set deep enough, panels are thick enough, and everything is designed to handle wind and weather properly.
How long does fencing installation take?
Most garden fences take 1–3 days. A standard 15-panel run is usually done in a day. We’ll confirm the exact time after measuring your boundary.
Do you repair storm-damaged fences?
Yes – we replace snapped posts, re-secure leaning panels, and fix broken gravel boards. We aim to get out within 48 hours after bad weather.
What styles of fencing do you offer?
Closeboard for privacy, picket for front gardens, trellis for climbing plants, lap panel for value, or fully bespoke. We bring samples so you can see and feel them in person.
Do I need planning permission for a new fence?
Generally no – fences under 2 metres (1 metre if next to a road) are permitted development. We double-check your property during the free survey.
How long will my fence last?
With proper installation and treated timber, expect 15–20 years. We use pressure-treated wood and concrete-in posts to maximise lifespan.

Excellent job
Excellent job. So pleased with the work carried out to complete a small patio. Had full confidence in Paul from first visit and he was quick to quote and book in a time. Paul was also very helpful in finding matching sandstone paving. We’re delighted with the result and definitely recommend.
